Job Description
JOB OBJECTIVE: To drive the Bank’s credit collection processes and establish internal credit collection process, develop policies and procedures, to ensure the quality of the Bank’s credit portfolio to secure long-term asset quality.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Support the Chief Risk Officer on management deliverables by ensuring that early warnings are effective, and loans are recovered promptly in line with established guidelines.
2. Guide and motivate the Early Warning and Resolution group by developing and monitoring KPIs of its personnel in order to achieve laid-down initiatives and projects.
3. Provide strategic direction on the transformation of the Early Warning and Resolution group by providing strategic guidance in developing standardized processes and automation of critical processes and reports.
4. Coordinate the development of a list of Standard Early Warning and Resolution Reports to aid reporting to Management and Board. 5. Review and enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with Business units and other Risk Management functions for all Early Warning and Resolution processes.
6. Review and ensure that regulatory reports are accurately prepared and submitted promptly.
7. Review and approve the group’s Operational Risk tool kits (RCSA) and ensure quality assurance of reports submitted by risk champions.
8. Approve and ensure prompt implementation of regulatory or business changes on processes and policies.
9. Coordinate the activities of the Secretariat for the Criticized Assets Committee.
10. Conduct customer visits to provide leadership and guidance on sensitive remedial actions and deliver commitment from the Bank on resolution.
11. Drive and oversee the execution of recovery and collection strategies to maximize revenue and collections on defaulted accounts, including early problem recognition, management and restructuring.
12. Work with the Strategic Business Units to agree and drive recovery, collection & remedial strategies.
13. Develop a dashboard to notify the Executive Committee of maturing obligations and past due obligations on large exposures, and follow-up to ensuring these are promptly regularized to improve the quality of loan book.
14. Work with EXCO and Senior Management to develop insights into the delinquent portfolio to drive improvements to operational performance to meet and exceed acceptable targets.
15. Coordinate all external engagements with 3rd party agents, including law firms and debt recovery agents.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 10 years of either Credit Monitoring and Recovery experience; especially experienced in distressed or workout loans and the management external entities such as law firms to ensure credit agreement compliance
