We are seeking an experienced Sr. Commercial Design Engineer to join our team and lead various projects across several teams.
As a Sr. Commercial Design Engineer at Genom, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a team of drafters, project managers, third-party consultants, and customers providing detailed design of the Electrical Engineering.
Responsibilities
:Design commercial and utility-scale solar PV systems, including the interconnection design at primary distribution voltages (system capacity range from 100kW to 20MW).Develop construction documents using AutoCAD.Develop specifications, collect data, and complete utility interconnection applications and building permit applications.Develop detailed equipment specifications.Attend pre-construction meetings and progress meetings; develop detailed meeting minutes.Gain deep knowledge of PV system components like modules, racking, inverters, and BOS.Coordinate activities between clients, utilities, permit agencies, contractors, and other engineering firms.Site assessment and analysis both from on-site data collection and off-site network tools.Contribute to or write technical papers.Site-specific production analysis of PV arrays using models such as PVSYST.Integrate energy storage systems into the solar PV system.Provide mentorship and training to new and junior engineering personnel.
Qualifications
:Minimum of 4-6 years experience working as a Design Engineer for an engineering firm, EPC or Solar Developer.In-depth experience with AutoCAD, manual drafting, and electrical line drawing.Proficient with PVsyst, Helioscope, and other solar design tools.Understanding of engineering and renewable energy systemsExperience managing vendor and client payment terms to achieve positive cash flow.Understanding of solar photovoltaic systems including SCADA.Advanced understanding of NEC and other Building Codes.
