Head of Product for D2C Platform with Rebel FoodsTo get closer to our ambitious vision, we want to identify some of the large and profitablecategories (for example Biriyani, Pizza etc) within the food space and design a portfolio of Brands that enables us to win in each category decisively. And while we will continue to rely on the aggregators for distribution leverage, one of the most critical objectives in our journey is to build our own D2C platform. This platform will enable us to own and harness customer data that can in turn be used for creating meaningful personalised solutions for our customers.

We embarked on the journey to build D2C platform as a strategic priority 3 years back and havemade a significant progress in a short span, with the D2C channel now having a substantialcontribution in the overall company revenue. The importance of D2C continues to be a pivotal one as it's one of the key components of the Rebel flywheel to leverage insights from customerbehaviour to enhance our food missions and deliver great personalized experiences.

Product-led growth has been our key philosophy to drive customer value at scale. We’ve builtseveral innovative customer-first features that have helped us in our our growth trajectory overthe past few years including building D2C as a Service capability that powers all our D2C ordering platforms leveraging the same powerful D2C engine, building an omnichannel seamless ordering experience in the EatSure offline foodcourts, launching one-of-a-kind loyalty program to reward customers, rendering personalized experiences across touchpoints using customer-level attributes, enabling customers to order food on train, and several features to simplify foodordering on the app.

The D2C platform will leverage our core operating system (kitchens, supply chain, culinaryinnovation centre and own delivery fleet) and will be positioned on a sharp, unique and scalableproposition. The D2C unit will have two key organisational pillars - the Business team and theProduct team who will work very closely with each other, being supported by the horizontalengineering and operations teams.

The RoleThe role of the product head for this D2C platform will be one of most powerful roles within theorganisation. This role will have the end to end responsibility for the strategic design, development and implementation of all product features and solutions for the platform. This rolewill be accountable for the overall customer experience (NPS) and growth (customer funnelhealth) charter for the platform.

The Head of Product for D2C will also be a key thought leader in this space, building long termproduct vision and rallying the team and stakeholders towards the vision. The leader willinnovate in the areas that strengthen the core value propositions of EatSure to create a newcategory of ‘foodcourt on an app’.

Key Expectations● Develop and design a strategic product roadmap for the D2C platform across all relevantconsumer touch points● Hire, groom and build a stellar Product Org● Contribute in terms of thought leadership and strategy for the larger Rebel leadership team● Be a culture ambassador (upholding the Rebel values) to everyone within and outside the org

Stakeholders/ Partners and TeamThe product team will have the following functions● Journey Teamo Pre-Order (Search, Merchandising, CRM, Recommendation)o Post-Order (Check Out, Payment, Order Tracking, Feedback, Recovery)● Design Team (Creatives, UI/UX Specialists)● Data Team (Business Analytics, Data Science, Trust and Safety)The product team will also work very closely with the Platform Business Team, the centralengineering team, central operations team and also the relevant Executive Committee members.

Skills & CompetenciesFor this super critical role, we are trying to get someone on board who can put together a stellarteam of product managers and designers. You should be customer obsessed, smart andanalytical, strategic yet execution focused, passionate about solving problems throughtechnology and must have shown some entrepreneurial leadership in the past. You should havethe ability to succeed in fast-paced startup environment with many cross functional partners. You will report to the CEO of D2C business – who is also an executive committee member &cofounder at Rebel.

Desired Qualification and ExperienceMBA with 12+ years of experience in product management in the e-commerce/any digitally native industry; Experience with an early stage firm/working on a project in incubation will be an addedadvantage.
