Major DeliverablesThe major responsibilities are to:To edit, proofread and review English content, while maintaining meaning and context, keeping end users in mind.To review and edit written content check for grammar accuracy, ensuring proper sentence structure for clarity and consistency, correct factual information and improve overall readability.To work closely with content creators/writers to ensure that the formatting of documents, presentations and spreadsheets meet organisation’s established style guidelines and standards.To refine content while maintaining a consistent tone of voice, style and language to maintain uniformity and alignment with the content writer’s style.To rewrite the content if required in tangent with the content writer to ensure the content communicates its message to the readerTo collaborate and communicate with multiple teams to keep them abreast, involved and informed on changes and development in any content during its development phase.To mentor and build a robust team of editor/s who will edit, review and proofread documents effectively without losing its essence.Proofread text and edit text at various stages of the writing process and in response to feedback from writers or creative directorsTo keep abreast of trends in content and style reflected on various popular social media channelsWillingness to collaborate with a creative team of content writers, graphic designers, and others
Job ChallengeTo edit, review documents of multiple styles/formats simultaneouslyTo adhere to timelines while meeting the needs of multiple teams in a fast-paced environmentTo understand and consistently reflect the brand voice of the organization in all writing styles
Specialized job competenciesExcellent written and verbal communication skills in the English languageMastery of spelling, grammar and punctuation and ability to make constructive suggestionsAdherence to organization's style guideProficient with research skills.Basic knowledge of legal issues involved in publishing, such as libel and plagiarismUK English spelling and punctuation conventionsAbility to give constructive feedbackAbility to remain detail-oriented and focused when processing large amounts of text
Educational QualificationPost-Graduate in English/Journalism/Mass MediaStrong computer processing skills, especially G-Suite and Microsoft Office, Grammarly, AI
Mandatory ExperienceMinimum 5 to 7 years of experience in editing, proofreading, reviewing, research domainExperience of working in a publishing house or journalism is an added advantage
Other desired attributesPrior experience of working in an NGO (not compulsory)Good listening and inter-personal skillsCommitment to time schedules, meticulous, passionateShould be a stickler for details and process adherence.Experience in writing content for various domains
Location-
Mumbai
Salary rangeRs. 70,000/- to Rs. 90,000/ - gross monthly + Travel Allowance + Therapeutic Allowance + Training Allowance (Based on work experience & Interview performance)
