- Strive to elevate the quality of content by setting and maintaining higher editorial standards. This involves reviewing and updating editorial guidelines, implementing rigorous editing processes, and ensuring that all content meets the highest levels of accuracy, clarity and relevance- To mentor a team of editor/s and build a robust process driven team for editing and vetting the content and also significantly increase the speed of turnaround in content creation
Major Deliverables
The major responsibilities are to:
To edit, proofread and review English content, while maintaining meaning and context, keeping end users in mind.
To review and edit written content check for grammar accuracy, ensuring proper sentence structure for clarity and consistency, correct factual information and improve overall readability.
To work closely with content creators/writers to ensure that the formatting of documents, presentations and spreadsheets meet organisation’s established style guidelines and standards.
To refine content while maintaining a consistent tone of voice, style and language to maintain uniformity and alignment with the content writer’s style.
To rewrite the content if required in tangent with the content writer to ensure the content communicates its message to the reader
To collaborate and communicate with multiple teams to keep them abreast, involved and informed on changes and development in any content during its development phase.
To mentor and build a robust team of editor/s who will edit, review and proofread documents effectively without losing its essence.
Proofread text and edit text at various stages of the writing process and in response to feedback from writers or creative directors
To keep abreast of trends in content and style reflected on various popular social media channels
Willingness to collaborate with a creative team of content writers, graphic designers, and others

To edit, review documents of multiple styles/formats simultaneously
To adhere to timelines while meeting the needs of multiple teams in a fast-paced environment
To understand and consistently reflect the brand voice of the organization in all writing styles
Specialized job competencies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
Mastery of spelling, grammar and punctuation and ability to make constructive suggestions
Adherence to organization's style guide
Proficient with research skills.
Basic knowledge of legal issues involved in publishing, such as libel and plagiarism
UK English spelling and punctuation conventions
Ability to give constructive feedback
Ability to remain detail-oriented and focused when processing large amounts of text
Educational Qualification
Post-Graduate in English/Journalism/Mass Media
Strong computer processing skills, especially G-Suite and Microsoft Office, Grammarly, AI
Mandatory Experience
Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in editing, proofreading, reviewing, research domain
Experience of working in a publishing house or journalism is an added advantage
Other desired attributes
Prior experience of working in an NGO (not compulsory)
Good listening and inter-personal skills
Commitment to time schedules, meticulous, passionate
Should be a stickler for details and process adherence.
Experience in writing content for various domains
Location- Mumbai
Salary range
Rs. 70,000/- to Rs. 90,000/ - gross monthly + Travel Allowance + Therapeutic Allowance + Training Allowance (Based on work experience & Interview performance)
