Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P)
in Hyderabad managing site resources reporting directly to this position as well as other team members who are part of other SS&P towers and plays a critical role in driving the execution of global category strategies and ensuring best practices, continuous improvement, and data-driven outcomes. This role is responsible for leading the Sourcing Execution (Source to Contract) program at Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) and enabling the Category Management program across a diverse range of categories, including R&D, GPS, Professional services. This role drives resource allocation for sourcing excellence staff and outsourced providers supporting this function. This role is responsible for developing resource allocation plans, balancing critical competing priorities, and getting required buy-in from category leaders and SS&P Functional lead. They will ensure resources have required capabilities in sourcing, contracting, analytics, and are employing leading practices on a fit-for-purpose basis. This role is responsible for removing barriers to execution and leading negotiations for high touch/high complex deals.
This role will be a Change leader using a data-driven approach and BMS’ Procurement Digital capabilities to sourcing and contracting activities, utilizing analytics and insights to inform decision-making and optimize productivity and outcomes. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements leading to best-in-class approach.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Sourcing Execution:Accountable for developing and driving the sourcing strategies to support multi-category business spend. Drive compliance to optimal buying channels.Lead team to use appropriate methods of procurement and perform cost benefit analysis, prepare and solicit competitive bids, quotations and proposals with pertinent specifications, terms and conditionsEvaluate and advise on competitive offerings to determine the overall best offer for a product or service while overseeing relationships with external partners to support sourcing facilitation and administration of contracts where appropriateEnsure negotiated terms are translated into contractual terms, following BMS templates provided by Legal Dept / Strategic Corporate Transactions, and working in close partnership with BMS Lawyers when needed.Manage team performance using data to drive continuous improvement mindset.
Provide management of organization for team spanning across internal resources and external providers:Building a high performing team, driving compliance with process and continuous improvement with a focus on creating process efficiencies and optimizing cycle time.Ensure Procurement alignment with organizational goals; develop or utilize criteria for evaluating procurement department and staff performance, including evaluating and resolving department performance and procurement audit report issuesOversee compliance programs and ensure compliance and risk responsibilities are appropriately staffed and training conductedAccountable for projects and their full compliance with BMS policies and external regulations/laws, including FCPA, FDA, EMA, SOX, Sunshine Act, and others)Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop a fungible talent pool spanning across levels. Provide a pipeline of future sourcing managers for SS&PManage service partners as well as full-time employees and service providers. Manage dynamic staffing changes (promotion, rotation) and knowledge transfer due to pipelining and development responsibilitiesMonitor quality and efficiency of staff, and selectively guides projects to ensure excellence in deliveryConduct and/or support development of career development plans to team, proving training, coaching, on-the-job training in alignment to individual development plans.Collaborate with SS&P leaders who have direct oversight of some of the Hyderabad resources to ensure talent management and pipelining

Qualifications:Minimum Requirements:B.S./B.A.Minimum of 8-10 years of business experienceExperienced as multi-disciplined procurement experience3-5 years of experience managing a direct team, with ability to manage large group of professionals. Hands on manager, who provides close leadership and support to his/her team.Strong contracting acumenRelevant Procurement & Subject Matter experienceExperience leading and participating on cross-functional and/or global teamsManagerial experience including managing global teams of senior professionals and managers and establishing performance expectationsProcurement process knowledge, agreement management, financial analysis, market analysis, supplier analysis, supplier diversity, supplier management, technology utilization, strategic planning and integrated supply chain experienceStrong management and team leadership skills, demonstrated by a track record of success leading projects and other problem-solving initiatives with cross functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:Advanced qualifications/educationRelevant professional certifications (e.g. Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)Membership in Professional Associations, e.g. Institute of Supply Management (ISM)
