Majesco is seeking a VP – Product Engineering for its Property and Casualty Product Line Platforms. Majesco is looking for a technically savvy and experienced Engineering Manager to serve as the lead, and mentor the engineering team. You will help the team grow in size and skills, optimizing their code while working on your own. With your technical expertise you will manage priorities, deadlines and deliverables, identify and mitigate the risks. You will design and develop the products that exceed client expectations in terms of value and benefit. Majesco has been identified in the ‘Leader’ Quadrant as per Gartner’s report for P&C Product vendors in North America, and this role will provide you the opportunity to shape up an industry leading product. 

All about the Role:

Single point owner for the end-to-end product engineering practice of Majesco’s P&C Platforms and accountable for the outcome in terms of timely delivery, quality output and meeting the business requirements as defined by the Product Owner and stakeholders. Build and lead high performance product engineering teams to build world-class products across multiple lines of business for the P&C Insurance market. Work closely with Product Manager and Product Owner as well as other stakeholders in shaping the product roadmaps and drive the product engineering teams to deliver as per the roadmap.  In collaboration with individual product engineering leads, translate approved business cases into a product development plan. Establish the associated product engineering budget and track cost to deliver against this budget. Introduce and institute modern software development practices – TDD, Secure Coding, DevOps etc. for improving Quality, Security as well Velocity / Productivity. Participant in the Product’s results in terms of adoption, customer satisfaction and Analyst feedback Devise and drive product release plans and their execution that satisfy requirements and priorities. Ensure alignment of product development plan with client delivery plans and implement corrective actions to allow the organization to meet its business objectives. Promote automated Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) processes to insure reliable, resilient, and scalable on-time deliverables. Drive efficiencies in the product engineering process by optimizing team structures and development approaches. Continuously raises the bar and motivates the team to solve problems and deliver high quality results. Be a change agent and champion for a versatile product engineering culture inside of Majesco. Champion the use of SAFe Agile processes & practices to drive productivity, ensure predictability and quality Leads and supervises Agile teams and assumes management responsibilities for defining the performance objectives in alignment with the product delivery goals and conducting annual performance reviews. Create and track tool driven dashboards to have a holistic & detailed view of any development risks, quality concerns, scope misses and delays ensuring these are identified early and mitigated.

Global accessibility as well as the ability to seamlessly work with remote teams Ability to tackle technical queries and problems with zeal and enthusiasm, helping team to successfully steer towards quality-based solutions. A Team player collaborating and sharing learnings with peers for cross-pollinating and adopting new approaches and processes.  Ability to conduct focused code reviews in problem areas and help team grow towards high quality standard coding practices and productivity. Conduct regular meetings – team level and individual level, encourage, mentor and coach team members

All About You:

An Engineering Leader with minimum 15+ years of industry experience, including 10 years in product development, preferably Insurance domain. Experience in leading product development teams with an understanding of budgets, timelines, business impact in addition to the overall software development lifecycle and principles.  Minimum experience of 5 years in leading product engineering teams, preferably Platform Teams and activities in an offshore context for packaged software (product companies) Hands on design & development experience & working knowledge in multiple high-level languages such as Java, JavaScript complemented with a strong desire to learn and grow with multiple technologies. Strong understanding of releases, branches, merging and conflict resolution as well as seamless upgrades.  Engage with technical resources on technology selection and issue resolution Experience of working in a software product-centric organization, preferably offshore development of North American or European software companies Proven ability in delivering outcome from requirements to release.

Other Qualifications:

Engineering degree or bachelor's degree (or global equivalent) in Computer Science or related field; Master’s Degree preferred. Experience with SAFe Agile development practices and processes; SAFe Agile certification preferred. Solid understanding of the North American Insurance marketplace and business processes is a bonus.
