Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Windows Application Support Specialist with experience in .NET desktop applications and SQL Server . The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, providing application support, and ensuring smooth operations for mission-critical applications. This role requires expertise in service management (ITIL framework), database performance, and effective communication skills to coordinate with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. .NET & SQL Server Application Support:
  • Provide ongoing support for .NET desktop applications integrated with SQL Server.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot application performance, resolving issues in a timely manner.
  1. Application Troubleshooting (OS Level):
  • Conduct OS-level troubleshooting for issues related to Event Viewer, application logs, services, processes, and system errors.
  • Use diagnostic tools to investigate and resolve problems with application behavior and performance.
  1. Database Knowledge:
  • Have a basic understanding of how SQL queries function, with the ability to identify performance issues or potential optimization areas.
  • No need to modify queries, but able to understand and explain database-related problems.
  1. Service Management (ITIL Framework):
  • Manage incidents, changes, problems, and evolutions according to ITIL best practices.
  • Independently handle priority incidents, providing timely resolutions and ensuring minimal business impact.
  • Provide accurate estimations for changes and evolutions, validating these estimates with business stakeholders.
  1. Effective Communication & Coordination:
  • Communicate effectively with delivery leads, business teams, and vendors to ensure smooth issue resolution.
  • Acknowledge and respond to emails in a professional manner, keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Coordinate with vendors for support when required, ensuring issues are resolved within the agreed timelines.
  1. Documentation & Process Adherence:
  • Follow and maintain technical documentation, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues independently while adhering to the documented guidelines.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of incidents, issues, and resolutions.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Technical Skills : Strong experience with .NET desktop applications and SQL Server .
  • Troubleshooting Expertise : Proficiency in OS-level troubleshooting , including working with Event Viewer, services, application logs, and processes.
  • Database Understanding : Basic knowledge of SQL queries and database performance.
  • ITIL Knowledge : Hands-on experience with Incident Management , Change Management , Problem Management , and Evolution Management in line with the ITIL framework.
  • Excellent Communication Skills : Ability to effectively communicate with business stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Vendor Coordination : Experience in managing vendor relationships and coordinating technical support efforts.
  • Adaptability : Ability to follow and apply technical documentation, independently resolve issues, and escalate when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL Foundation Certification (or higher).
  • Experience with additional frameworks or tools related to application monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to other programming languages or frameworks (e.g., C#, .NET Core) is a plus.
