Role OverviewGKN Automotive India is seeking a dynamic and strategic Assistant / Deputy Manager – Commercial to lead customer account management and business development for our West Zone clients, including industry leaders like Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, MG Motors, Stellantis, and Fiat. This high-impact role contributes directly to 30–40% of GKN India’s revenue and volume.You’ll be the front-line contact for key accounts, driving new business, profitability, and long-term partnerships while collaborating with internal teams across Central Purchase, Plant Operations, Finance, and Global Account Management.Key Responsibilities- Lead pre-RFQ engagement, RFQ generation, quote preparation, and negotiation- Drive competitive insights to shape winning proposals- Maintain and improve profitability across current and new business- Own budgeting, demand planning, and long-range strategy (4YP)- Develop and execute customer business strategies- Deep dive into customer systems, portals, vehicle cycle plans, and sourcing strategies- Conduct strategic visits to foster customer intimacy and long-term growth- Manage pricing mechanisms and settlements- Support VAVE, ECN, and resourcing initiatives for cost competitiveness- Collaborate with plant teams on supply chain, quality, and overdue issues- Maintain costing databases and support MIS reporting- Apply global key account management practices and profitability metrics- Analyze and leverage competitive intelligence for business advantageQualifications & Experience- Bachelor of Engineering (MBA preferred)- 8–10 years in the auto component industry, ideally with Tier 1 system suppliersCore Competencies- Strong analytical and reasoning skills- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities- Collaborative mindset and team leadership potential- Assertiveness, decision-making, and persuasive influenceWhy Join Us?At GKN Automotive India, you’ll be part of a high-performance team shaping the future of mobility.
