We seek a skilled and experienced Tax Lawyer to join our Tier 1 law firm in Hyderabad. The candidate will provide comprehensive tax advisory services, manage complex tax litigation, and represent clients before various courts and tax authorities. This role requires a deep understanding of direct and indirect tax laws, exceptional legal acumen, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, high-stakes environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Tax Advisory:

- Provide strategic advice on tax planning, structuring, and compliance for corporate and individual clients.- Assist clients with tax-efficient business models, mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and policies to provide proactive solutions.

2. Litigation & Representation:

- Draft and review pleadings, petitions, appeals, and other legal documents for tax disputes.- As required, represent clients before appellate tribunals, high courts, and the Supreme Court.- Handle matters before tax authorities, including assessments, audits, and inquiries.

3. Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure adherence to all applicable tax laws and regulations.- Provide support in responding to tax notices and assessments.- Collaborate with regulatory bodies and government agencies on behalf of clients.

4. Client Management:

- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.- Offer solutions tailored to the client’s business and financial goals.- Act as a trusted advisor on all tax-related matters.

Qualifications

1. Educational Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a reputed university.- Additional qualifications such as CA are preferred but not mandatory.

2. Work Experience:

- 5–10 years of experience in taxation law, with significant exposure to both advisory and litigation work.- Proven track record of handling high-stakes tax litigation and appearing before courts.

3 . Skills:

- In-depth knowledge of Indian tax laws, including direct taxes (Income Tax, etc.) and indirect taxes (GST, Customs, etc.).- Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills.- Strong oral and written advocacy skills.- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

4. Additional Attributes:

- Familiarity with international taxation laws and treaties is a plus.- Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills.- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to client service.
