Role & responsibilities

  • Senior Project Leadership: Lead strategic projects including oversight on the end-to-end delivery of a range of finance projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and managing varying levels of responsibility based on project scope.
  • Project Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, ensuring all milestones are met on schedule.
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor and report project progress to stakeholders and senior leadership (SVP/VP level), ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage issues and risks, escalating as necessary to business stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Meeting Coordination: Organise and facilitate project meetings, documenting minutes with clear action items and timelines for follow-up. As a Senior Manager, bring context and organisational awareness, focusing on benefits and outcomes, not just tasks and activities.
  • Process Improvement: Engage in shaping project outcomes by analysing current processes (as-is) and collaborating with teams to design optimised future processes (to-be) using ESSA principles (Eliminate, Simplify, Standardise, Automate).
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Present project updates to various stakeholder groups and governance meetings, ensuring alignment and support. Be comfortable in supporting the organisation in navigating grey areas, or shaping direction or providing recommendations.
  • Best Practices: Adhere to the Finance Project Delivery Framework, providing insights and guidance on project best practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Project Management Tools: Ensure that project management tools, such as , are consistently updated to reflect current project status. Be a champion in making project delivery seamless, efficient and focused on delivery the outcomes.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with counterparts across all relevant teams to facilitate collaboration and project success. Partner with with GPOs (Global Process Owners) and other business stakeholders to take accountability for delivery strategic objectives. Additionally have a proactive and innovative mindset to try new things to do things differently to elevate IHG as needed.
  • Ownership and Accountability: Take full ownership of project scope, quality, and cost, ensuring that intended benefits and outcomes are achieved. Align to IHG performance culture but extending your experience beyond states goals

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Experience Essential:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant Finance experience across multiple teams.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering change initiatives or projects.
  • Leadership and ability to take full ownership to drive objectives independently to realise outcomes to time, cost and quality.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Project Management and/or Change Management.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) or equivalent relevant internal experience at IHG
  • Exposure or experience in delivery technology or process improvement initiatives (desirable)

Preferred candidate profile

  • Delivery on key benefits and outcomes from projects in partnership with Sponsor, GPO or Functional Lead
  • Execute all deliverables according to the agreed timeline, ensuring that project goals and outcomes are achieved.
  • Build trusted and effective relationships with key stakeholders to enhance service delivery and achieve intended project outcomes.
  • Foster a proactive approach to identify opportunities for delivering benefits in Finance.
  • Ensure effective project delivery by collaborating with sponsors to achieve quantitative or qualitative benefits through process improvement - specifically by eliminating, standardising, simplifying, or automating processes.
