Job Responsibilities :The candidate will drive projects independently under Foundry SBU of Performance Ceramics & Refractories R&D.Able to make a project plan and apply DOE, statistical tools in executing the projects with the tight timelines.Strong theoretical and practical knowledge on high temperature coatings for inorganic materials/alloys/or on ceramics.Hands on experience in different ceramics processing techniques, making new formulations for monolithic materials will be an added advantage.Good understanding of high temperature furnace operation and refractories used in foundry for metal manufacturing Hands on experience in different ceramics processing techniques, making new formulations for monolithic materials will be an added advantage.Good knowledge on different physical property measurements of ceramics at room and high temperatures and able to correlate the properties to formulation and processing.

We Expect you have:

Ph.D. in the area of Materials Science /Metallurgy/Ceramics/with 0-3 years of relevant industrial experience (or)Masters in the area of Materials Science/Metallurgy/Ceramics/ with 7-10 years of industry experienceHands on experience in Materials characterisation and/or high temperature testing of refractory ceramics/inorganic materialsGood understanding on high temperature corrosion of materials/alloys/ceramicsTo Work closely with other researchers in competency labs of SGRI. Performing lab scale & pilot scale experiments as required in the project. Needs to be Solution oriented & collaborative mindset with strong technical inclination & curiosity.Willingness to travel as per business & project requirement to visit customers and for conducting trials at customer locations.Hands on experience in different ceramics processing techniques, making new formulations for monolithic materials will be an added advantage.Good understanding of different characterization techniques used for ceramic materials such as XRD, SEM-EDS, TG/DSC and able to demonstrate the structure-property relationships.
