About Our Client

One of the leading French multi-fragrance organizations to find an exceptional Assistant Travel Retail Operations Manager for their Travel Retail India business. This newly established position, based in India, will report to the Travel Retail Area Manager overseeing India and Sri Lanka. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing retail sales, operations, staffing, and training for a diverse fragrance portfolio.


Key Responsibilities

Retail Sales

  • Collaborate with the Area Manager to strategize on sell-out, inventory management, and budget control.
  • Drive and exceed retail sales targets.
  • Provide insightful feedback on product assortment, merchandising, and inventory to boost business performance.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly reports on sales performance, competitor activities, and market trends.

Operations

  • Conduct regular store visits to ensure stock levels, counter maintenance, and brand guideline compliance.
  • Manage the execution of new product launches and ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with the office support team for merchandising needs.
  • Foster strong relationships with client stakeholders to enhance brand prioritization.
  • Oversee logistics and setup during new counter installations.
  • Collaborate with retailer operations teams and suppliers to meet operational requirements and identify improvement areas.

Staffing

  • Recruit, manage, and motivate brand ambassadors and promoters.
  • Establish sales targets and incentive plans for the sales team.
  • Ensure the sales team meets customer service standards, achieves sales targets, and adheres to grooming guidelines.

Training

  • Conduct training sessions, briefings, and on-counter coaching.
  • Partner with the Training Department to ensure timely dissemination of information to the sales team.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide regular performance feedback to the Area Manager and identify growth opportunities.
  • Assist with trade events as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in operations, retail management, or training.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels.
  • Knowledge of the retail industry in India is a plus; candidates from other sectors will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in English and Indian business practices is required.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel within India and Sri Lanka.
