We are seeking talented and highly skilled Director-level consultants to join our team and support us to expand our impact in the Private Equity (PE) sector. You will be working closely with Alysian leaders, PE Operating Partners, and the CIOs/IT Leadership teams at portfolio companies to execute transformative IT-enabled value creation strategies.
CONTEXT ON ROLE
As an Infrastructure Architect, you will be at the forefront of IT infrastructure design, integration, and optimization for PE clients and their portfolio companies. This role combines deep technical infrastructure expertise with strategic advisory skills, enabling clean technology separation, seamless integration, and scalable infrastructure transformation.

- Comfortable challenging established thinking and influencing stakeholders at all levels by presenting alternative solutions supported with robust financial, operational, and technical justifications
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelors degree in IT/Engineering; Masters degree or relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architect, Cisco, ITIL) preferred.
- Recognized degree from leading international universities, with a Post-Graduate degree or Professional Certifications
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years in IT infrastructure design and transformation, ideally including consulting experience at a top-tier firm (MBB or equivalent).
- Background in cloud architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP), networking, end-user computing, and data management.
- Proven track record in infrastructure roles within Private Equity, M&A, or large-scale transformation programs.
- Experience with vendor selection, contract negotiation, and SLA design.
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. IT Infrastructure Architecture & Strategy
- Design end-to-end infrastructure architectures (cloud, networking, end-user computing, storage, data) aligned with business and transaction objectives.
- Develop scalable, secure, and cost-optimized infrastructure blueprints for post-merger, carve-out, or transformation programs.
- Include ongoing operational costs and support practicalities when preparing design options.
- Create roadmaps for implementing complex architecture transformations based on business objectives, financial constraints and architectural practicalities.
- Lead infrastructure readiness assessments, benchmarking, and target operating model design.
2. M&A & Carve-Out Execution
- Assess infrastructure environments during IT due diligence, identifying risks, cost implications, and integration/separation complexities.
- Develop infrastructure separation plans for carve-outs, including Day 1 readiness, TSA services, and vendor transition management.
- Oversee infrastructure integration post-acquisition to ensure seamless operations and minimal downtime.
3. Transformation & Optimization
- Drive infrastructure modernization initiatives, including cloud migration, network redesign, and workplace technology transformation.
- Lead IT cost optimization projects – analyzing spend across infra, licenses, and services; negotiating vendor contracts; and implementing savings plans without impacting operational resilience.
4. Program & Vendor Management
- Act as Infrastructure Track Lead in large-scale transformation or separation programs, ensuring delivery to scope, budget, and timeline.
- Collaborate with CIOs, CTOs, and vendor partners to design SLAs, governance frameworks, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Establish performance dashboards, infrastructure KPIs, and reporting for stakeholders. Drive vendor compliance to meet KPIs and contractual obligations; lead troubleshooting of issues (both technical and commercial).
REQUIREMENTS
Good to have Private Equity Expertise
- Experience in large or mid-cap PEs either as an investment or operating professional, consultant in the PE sector or role in a PE-backed company.
- Experience in large-cap PE houses e.g. Blackstone, Carlyle, Warburg, CVC, EQT, KKR would be a strong asset.
