Job Summary:
The Purchase Head will oversee all procurement activities for AVF Creative Brand Consultancy Pvt Ltd , ensuring efficient sourcing of goods and services, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy & Planning :
Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and reliability.
Collaborate with department heads to forecast procurement needs and align them with company objectives.
Continuously review purchasing practices and processes to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Vendor Management & Negotiation :
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price, service, and reliability.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships and timely delivery of goods/services.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management :
Oversee inventory levels and ensure that materials are available to meet production and operational requirements.
Work closely with the logistics and operations teams to manage the flow of goods and optimize supply chain efficiency.
Implement systems for tracking orders, inventory levels, and delivery performance to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
Cost Control & Budgeting :
Monitor procurement budgets and ensure that purchasing activities remain within budgetary limits.
Conduct market research and analyze trends to determine competitive pricing and reduce procurement costs.
Provide regular cost analysis reports to senior management, highlighting potential cost savings and risks.
Supplier Performance & Compliance :
Monitor supplier performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery time, quality, and cost.
Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements in all purchasing activities.
Address and resolve any issues with suppliers, such as delays, quality problems, or contract disputes.
Contract Management & Risk Mitigation :
Review and approve purchase contracts, ensuring that terms and conditions are favorable and comply with legal standards.
Identify risks related to procurement and supply chain activities and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure proper documentation of procurement contracts and agreements for audit and compliance purposes.
Team Leadership & Development :
Lead and manage the procurement team, providing clear direction, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture within the team, ensuring alignment with company goals.
Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring that all purchasing activities are handled efficiently and meet deadlines.
Vendor Audits & Quality Control :
Conduct regular vendor audits to ensure that suppliers meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Work with the quality control team to ensure that procured goods and services meet the necessary specifications and quality benchmarks.
Address any quality issues or discrepancies with suppliers and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
Technology & Systems Implementation :
Oversee the implementation and use of procurement management systems and software to improve purchasing efficiency and accuracy.
Leverage technology to streamline procurement processes, such as order tracking, vendor management, and reporting.
Sustainability & Ethical Sourcing :
Promote sustainable and ethical procurement practices by selecting suppliers that adhere to environmental and ethical standards.
Ensure that procurement processes support the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals.
Qualifications:
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field. A Master’s degree or certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS) is an advantage.
Experience : Minimum of 6 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Skills :
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and vendor negotiation.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and contract management skills.
Proficiency in procurement management systems and MS Office, particularly Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on cost efficiency.
Experience in inventory management and procurement budgeting.
