Our client is looking for a Data Engineer/Modeler. The client is implementing the Enterprise AnalyticsPlatform (EAP) including a data lake with data serving the 13 UWuniversities and campuses.The EAP team is seeking a data engineerwith data modeling skills and expertise. The position will workclosely with the analysts developers and consumers to design datamodels that support integration of multiple source systems intocohesive data reporting and visualization solutions.TasksCreate and maintain Enterprise Analytics Platform (EAP)data models that integrate multiple source systems into a coherentcohesive catalog of data. Some of those source systems includeOracle/Peoplesoft HR and Finance and Workday.Design develop and maintain conceptual logical andphysical data models.Work with analyst teamto review business requirements and assess the data model needs tobest fulfill those requirements.Advise onexercises like gap analyses or cost/benefit/riskanalyses.Ensure data models adhere to designand security standards.Perform data profilingand analysis to ensure the quality of the data models.Collaborate with functional and technical team tointegrate model metadata with consumer tools (e.g. CollibraTableau).Collaborate with development team toensure models are clear and comprehensive. Provide developers withmodel and/or data definition language (DDL).Support EAP customers/consumers with data modelwalkthroughs and help queue responses.Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesRequiredExperienceworking in a team environment.Ability tocommunicate effectively with users with varying levels of technicalvocabulary.Analytical skills.Problemsolving attitude.Skills Required

3years Experience as a Data Architect Data Scientist Data AnalystData Engineer Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst or similarrole3 years Experience gathering andanalyzing data report and business requirements anddatabase.3 years Understanding of datamodeling principles and best practices including expertise in bothrelational and dimensional modeling with a specific focus on theAWS RedshiftIndepth understanding of databasestructure principles.Strong proficiency indata modeling tools with expertise in ER Studio.Indepth understanding of data warehousing concepts datalakes and AWS cloudbased architecture.Strongunderstanding of the software development lifecycle(SDLC).Familiarity with metadata managementprinciplesStrong understanding of master andreference data management principles.Strongunderstanding of objectoriented design or domaindrivendesign.SkillsDesired

Experience with higher education dataand reporting e.g. students human resources (HR) financeoperationsExperience in AWS cloudenvironmentExperience in agile and/or hybrid(agile and waterfall) teamsExperiencemigrating legacy applications and data systems to newenvironments.
