Skills and Responsibilities:

  • To ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations, company EHS policies, and promoting a culture of safety among site personnel, contractors, and workers.
  • Be primary point of accountability for implementing and maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring zero tolerance towards unsafe practices
  • Indemnify the Client and Project Management Consultant (PMC) by taking full and complete responsibility for all aspects of site safety
  • Implement and enforce site-specific EHS plans, procedures, and work permits in accordance with local, state, and national regulations.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, toolbox talks, and safety briefings for workers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure PPE compliance for all site personnel and monitor safe usage of tools, equipment, scaffolding, and machinery
  • Identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Report and investigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe practices; maintain proper documentation and prepare incident reports.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
  • Conduct regular EHS training and awareness programs for workers, supervisors, and contractors & subcontractors.
  • Maintain and update EHS documentation, safety records, checklists, and site safety reports.
  • Monitor environmental aspects of construction such as dust control, noise levels, and waste management.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness and first-aid response plans at the site.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management with a specialization or certification in Industrial Safety / Environmental Health & Safety.
  • Minimum 5 years' working experience in safety.
  • Familiarity with National Building Code (NBC), Factories Act, BIS standards, and relevant safety legislation.
  • Working knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation techniques
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 standards is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage safety for multiple work fronts simultaneously
  • Proficient/experience  in safety documentation, risk assessments and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a strong ability to resolve difficult problems.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada.
