Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Lead HCLSoftware’s India defence markets, achieve growth, and hit sales targets by developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with HCLSoftware's overall business objectives.
Business Development: Head India sales for defence, focusing on the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Defence Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), and other central and state government's security agencies. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams.
Sales and Revenue Management: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue growth in the defence sector, including contract negotiation and management. Be responsible for increasing HCLSoftware’s revenue by undertaking targeted business development activities.
Government Bids and Tenders: Identify and apply for government bids and tenders, ensuring compliance and maintaining post-bid record keeping. Liaise with various armed forces, security forces, Border Security Force (BSF), and other agencies for enterprise software requirements.
Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for defence clients, understanding their needs and ensuring the delivery of tailored software solutions. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the defense sector, engaging with customers to understand their challenges and future requirements.
Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, government policies, and competitor activities in the defence sector, leveraging insights to refine sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
Innovation and Product Alignment: Communicate regular feedback to the engineering and R&D teams to ensure continuous product improvement and the development of new products that meet market needs.
Team Leadership: Lead and manage the defence sales team, setting clear goals, providing mentorship, and driving performance to meet and exceed sales targets.
Partnerships: Collaborate with internal teams, including product development, marketing, and legal, to ensure the successful delivery and implementation of software solutions for defence clients.
Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with government regulations and internal policies, particularly those related to defence and national security.
Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on sales performance, market opportunities, and potential risks, along with actionable recommendations.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in sales leadership roles, with a significant portion of that experience in the defence sector in India.
