Job Description:   

Position Overview: As a Bookkeeper at TLB, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. You will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the firm and contributing to its overall success.


Key Responsibilities:


Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Generate client invoices and track accounts receivable.

Financial Recordkeeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
  • Record all financial transactions, including deposits, disbursements, and adjustments.
  • Monitor bank account balances and reconcile bank statements.

Payroll Processing:

  • Process payroll for firm employees, including salary payments, deductions, and taxes.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and reporting requirements.

Budget Management:

  • Assist in the development and monitoring of the firm's budget.
  • Track expenses and identify areas for cost savings or improvement.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.

Tax Preparation and Compliance:

  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors as needed.

Vendor Management:

  • Maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate favorable terms for goods and services.
  • Review vendor contracts and ensure compliance with payment terms.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a law firm in the US/UK
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
