Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Haemodialysius Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join the Northern Haemodialysis Team team at Northern Hospital Inpatient Dialysis Unit and Northern Hospital Epping Satellite Dialysis unit.  Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg. About the Role: We have a unique opportunity for ANUM to join the Northern Hospital Inpatient Dialysis Unit and the Northern Epping Satellite Dialysis Unit This role is a Ongoing, Part-Time - 72 hours per fortnight role. As a  Associate Nurse Unit Manager is a Registered Nurse who demonstrates expert knowledge and skills whilst assuming a prominent management focus within the ward\unit. You will be an integral member of the department management team, assisting the NUM in the course of their duties to ensure efficient operation of the clinical environment. In this role you will manage the nursing and related resources available to the department, sets the clinical standards to achieve a high quality of nursing care and fosters and maintains a working environment which provides professional development and job satisfaction for all staff. Part of this role you will assume the responsibilities and authority of the NUM in their absence and as such must have knowledge of the administrative operation of the department and, when appropriate, be involved in the delivery of direct patient care.  About the Units: Inpatient Dialysis Unit (IDU) Situated in Outpatients area Clinic E – 11 haemodialysis chairs / beds . Operates Monday to Saturday 0700 – 2030 hours with ability to provide Emergency dialysis overnight and Sunday 24 hours /Public holiday The Inpatient Dialysis unit provides acute healthcare needs for a wide range of acute inpatient /outpatient conditions: • Emergency admissions, • Inpatients requiring acute dialysis, Northern Hospital Epping Satellite Dialysis Unit – 12 chairs.  This Unit accommodates well patients requiring ongoing haemodialysis treatment. The Unit Operates Monday to Saturday Hours of Operation: Monday to Saturday 0700 – 2030 hours Twilight shift availability 1730 – 0030 hours To be successful in this role you will have: Experience and good working knowledge of acute and chronic hemodialysis nursing Preferred senior level experience in Renal Nursing ( 3 years ) Must have the ability to work flexible roster and on call Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
