Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Nurse Unit Managers to join the Mernda Community Hospital, Urgent Care Centre team.   Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, Kilmore District Hospital and Mernda Community Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg. About the Role: This role requires a dynamic and visible leader to guide and coordinate the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary environment. The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for the operational, clinical and professional management of staff and resources, fostering collaboration, accountability and excellence across the unit. This role is responsible for: Leading, directing and coordinating nursing care in the Urgent Care Centre. Managing staff and resources to deliver safe, efficient and patient-centred care. Fostering effective multidisciplinary partnerships and leadership across the Mernda Community Hospital site. Ensuring that patient flow, rosters, and service delivery are aligned with best practice and operational efficiency. Promoting a culture of enquiry, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement in patient care. To be successful in this role you will have: Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA Relevant post graduate advanced clinical qualifications Relevant management tertiary qualifications, or working towards Experience in leadership (Acting NUM, Nurse in Charge or acting in-charge, team building opportunities or leadership experiences external to workplace).
