Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize power trading operations, including market analysis, risk management, and trading activities.
  • Lead a team of traders, analysts, and operations staff to execute trading strategies and achieve business objectives.
  • Monitor energy market trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with energy suppliers, traders, brokers, and other market participants to facilitate trading activities.
  • Analyze trading data and performance metrics to evaluate trading strategies, assess risk exposure, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including risk management, finance, and legal teams, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and controls to ensure efficient and effective trading operations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, including training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Prepare and present reports and presentations to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting trading performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in power trading operations, preferably in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of energy markets, trading instruments, and risk management strategies.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Familiarity with trading platforms, market data sources, and risk management tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a focus on results and continuous improvement.

  • Power Trading: Developing and executing trading strategies in energy markets.
  • Risk Management: Assessing and mitigating risks associated with trading activities.
  • Market Analysis: Analyzing energy market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and regulatory developments.
  • Leadership: Providing direction, guidance, and support to a team of trading professionals.
  • Communication: Presenting complex information clearly and effectively to stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional certification in energy trading or risk management.
