Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Oversee events to ensure success and cost-effectiveness within budget and time constraints.
Operational Management
- Plan and execute events from start to finish based on specific requirements, objectives, and target audience.- Innovate and implement strategies to maximize event success.- Handle event logistics, planning, running, and post-event evaluation.- Monitor and manage each stage of event planning and execution.- Serve as the liaison between the host and external bodies.- Provide training and coaching to the organizing team and supervise production processes.- Ensure all personnel adhere to event management policies.- Lead and approve promotional activities and event aspects prior to the event.
Research & Development
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and research in event planning.
Financial Oversight
- Prepare and manage event budgets; supervise all staff and operations involved in the event.
Vendor Collaboration
- Source, negotiate, and coordinate with vendors and suppliers.
Academic Collaboration
- Review event plans and support professional development in line with event goals.- Facilitate all university events, from conferences to seminars, and invite prominent speakers and experts.
External Representation
- Represent MIT WPU with external organizations, enhancing the university’s brand and community relationships.
This role offers the opportunity to shape and lead impactful events while representing MIT WPU.
