Role Overview
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for driving operational excellence, building robust operating mechanisms, and delivering
consistent financial and business performance across the organization.
This role requires a seasoned leader with deep understanding of business finance, P&L
ownership, and cross-functional operating models. The COO will partner closely with Business Unit Heads, Finance, and the CEO to ensure disciplined execution of strategy,
efficient operating processes, and delivery of growth, profitability, and long-term value
creation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Operations & Governance
• Establish and institutionalize operating mechanisms across the company for effective
execution, accountability, and performance tracking.
• Design and implement standardized reporting formats, dashboards, and review
structures to ensure alignment across Business Units, Finance, and the leadership
team.
• Drive weekly, monthly, and quarterly operating reviews, ensuring inputs and
outcomes are consistently tracked, analysed, and acted upon.
2. Financial & Business Performance Management
• Work closely with Finance and Business Leaders to own and drive financial discipline
across P&L, sales forecasts, gross margins, costs, and EBITDA delivery.
• Partner with the CFO and BU Heads to institutionalize forecasting, budgeting, and
variance analysis frameworks.
• Ensure each BU delivers against revenue, margin, and profitability goals through
rigorous monitoring and proactive interventions.
3. Execution Excellence & Process Transformation
• Translate strategy into execution through robust plans, clear accountability, and
operational rigor.
• Streamline cross-functional workflows, improve cycle times, and embed data-driven
decision-making across the organization.
• Introduce best-in-class operational tools and practices to optimize resource
allocation and organizational efficiency.
4. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as a trusted partner to the CEO and the Board by providing clear, data-backed
insights on business performance and operational priorities.
• Inspire, lead, and mentor senior leaders, creating a culture of accountability, agility,
and excellence.
• Engage with external stakeholders (investors, partners, regulators) as needed,
representing VerSe's operational strategy and progress.
Ideal Candidate Profile
• 20+ years of leadership experience in complex, high-growth organizations, preferably
in technology, digital media, or advertising-driven businesses.
• Proven track record of P&L management, driving operational rigor, and delivering
profitable growth in dynamic environments.
• Strong exposure to business finance, forecasting, budgeting, and operational
excellence frameworks.
• Demonstrated success in building and scaling operating mechanisms across large,
matrixed organizations.
• Experience in managing stakeholders across board, investors, and cross-functional
leadership teams.
Skills & Competencies
• Exceptional business acumen with deep understanding of sales, margins, costs, and
EBITDA levers.
• Strong execution discipline with ability to drive processes that balance speed,
efficiency, and accuracy.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a data-driven mindset.
• High EQ and ability to collaborate, influence, and inspire at the leadership level.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial
ecosystems.
