Responsibilities of Technical Support Engineer:

  • Respond to vessel inquiries and provide technical support, remotely, onsite and troubleshooting for electrical and instrumentation-oriented systems
  • Work closely with other engineering teams, ship crew and clients and act as the initial point of contact for them to ensure smooth project execution and address any technical challenges
  • Actively update, maintain and monitor all aspects of technical support offered to the client and their vessels
  • Attend in-person meetings with vessel Master and Chief Engineer to analyze, troubleshoot and diagnose reported problems that require onboard attendances
  • Complete detailed reports listing requests to technical assistance, steps taken to resolve them, and the specific dates/individuals involved
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including technical specifications, reports, and manuals to assist management in creating a database pertaining to troubleshooting


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Electrical or Electronics
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems of various ship categories
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in the maritime industry, focusing on electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel and work onboard vessels as and when required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Comfortable working in and assisting clients through company help desk software.
  • Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
  • Professional written and interpersonal skills are essential when communicating with clients and their vessels
  • Accept constructive criticism and client feedback regarding their experience with troubleshooting services
