Overview :

As an Application Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning and stability of our company's applications.

- Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical support to end-users and internal teams, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution.

- This role is crucial in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and enabling the seamless operation of our business applications.

Key responsibilities :

- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users and internal teams

- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and system outages

- Collaborate with development teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues

- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring technical problems

- Monitor application performance and implement proactive measures to optimize performance

- Create and maintain technical documentation for support processes and procedures

- Assist in testing application releases and updates

- Participate in on-call rotation to address critical system issues outside of regular business hours

- Coordinate with vendors for issue resolution and system enhancements

- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on technical issues and resolutions

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for application support processes

- Train end-users on application functionality and best practices

- Ensure compliance with security and data protection policies

- Manage user access and permissions for applications

- Participate in team meetings to discuss ongoing issues and improvements

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

- Proven work experience as an Application Support Engineer or in a similar role

- Strong understanding of application architecture and infrastructure

- Proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing database data

- Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple open issues simultaneously

- Knowledge of IT service management and support processes (ITIL)

- Familiarity with monitoring tools for application performance and system health

- Experience in providing customer support and interacting with stakeholders

- Understanding of security and data protection principles

- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

- Certifications such as ITIL, Oracle, or Microsoft are a plus

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
