Job Summary
The HR Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the HR department. This role involves managing employee records, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and HR systems. The HR Operations Specialist ensures the efficient implementation of HR policies and procedures and supports the HR team in delivering a high level of service to employees and management.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Administration:
- Maintain and update employee records, including personal information, job details, and employment status.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, benefits, and other compensation-related tasks.
- Administer HR systems and software, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Benefits Administration:
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Serve as the point of contact for benefits-related inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Coordinate open enrollment periods and communicate benefits information to employees.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and regulations.
- Prepare and submit reports related to HR metrics, employee data, and compliance.
- Conduct audits of HR processes and systems to ensure adherence to policies and legal requirements.
- Employee Records Management:
- Oversee the documentation and record-keeping of employee-related activities, including hiring, promotions, and terminations.
- Manage the employee life cycle from onboarding to offboarding, including exit interviews and document retention.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in HR operations and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement HR procedures and workflows to streamline operations.
- Support to HR Team:
- Assist the HR team with various projects, including recruitment, training, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Provide administrative support for HR programs and events.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
- Experience:
- 1-5 years of experience in HR operations or a similar administrative role.
- Experience with HRIS systems and payroll processing.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of HR principles, labor laws, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in HR software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data management.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions
