Department:Empowerment CentreJob Summary Vidyashilp Academy is seeking apassionate and experienced Senior Behavioural Counsellorto provide expert behavioural counselling services for students. This role involvesassessing, intervening, and supporting students facing emotional, behavioural, or social challenges , while strictly adhering to child protection laws, school SOPs, and ethical counselling standards.Key Responsibilities 1. Counselling & Intervention Conductindividual and group counselling sessionsfor students across all grades. Assess and implementBehavioural Intervention Plans (BIPs)in collaboration with teachers, parents, and relevant staff. Providecrisis intervention and conflict resolutionsupport following SOP and child protection protocols. Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and staff toidentify students at risk . Coordinate with families, mental health professionals, and NGOs for external referrals when needed. Lead case reviews forcomplex or high-risk cases , ensuringconfidentiality and ethical standards . 2. Training & Awareness Conduct workshops and awareness sessions for students, staff, and parents onmental health, emotional well-being, stress management, and child safety . Advise school staff on behavioural support strategies and best practices. Stay updated onchild and adolescent psychology, trauma-informed care, and NEP 2020 guidelines . 3. Reporting & Documentation Maintaindetailed, confidential recordsof counselling sessions, interventions, and student progress. Prepare reports for school leadership on behavioural trends and programme effectiveness. Follow alllegal and ethical guidelines , including mandatory reporting under POCSO and the school’s SOPs.Qualifications PhD or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, or related field. Valid counselling certification or license. Minimum5 years’ experiencein school counselling or psychology. Hands-on experience withADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, and other behavioural or emotional challenges . Knowledge ofchild protection frameworks and legal compliance requirements .Key Competencies & Skills Strongempathy and emotional intelligence . Expertise inbehavioural interventions, crisis management, and child/adolescent mental health . Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability towork collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals .
