Role Overview

The Category Head – COCO (Company Owned Company Operated) Stores will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of product categories across Royaloak's COCO store format. The role demands strong experience in retail category management, merchandising, and sales strategy to drive business performance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

This is a leadership role requiring deep retail expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to maximize category profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Category Management & Strategy

  • Own and drive category P&L for COCO stores across regions.
  • Define category assortment, pricing, and promotion strategies in alignment with market trends.
  • Identify new product opportunities and work with vendors/supply chain for execution.

Sales & Performance

  • Monitor sales performance of assigned categories and drive initiatives to achieve revenue targets.
  • Analyze sales trends, customer preferences, and competitor insights to refine category plans.
  • Implement effective merchandising and in-store display strategies to maximize conversions.

Operations & Store Coordination

  • Partner with COCO store managers to ensure category execution excellence.
  • Oversee inventory planning, stock availability, and replenishment processes.
  • Ensure operational excellence in terms of category presentation, promotions, and customer experience.

Team Leadership

  • Lead a team of category managers and store support executives.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance reviews to ensure high productivity.
  • Foster collaboration between category, sales, marketing, and operations teams.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Manage key vendor relationships for product sourcing, pricing, and quality assurance.
  • Work with marketing for category-specific campaigns and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Report performance and insights to leadership with actionable recommendations.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Retail, preferably furniture, lifestyle, or consumer durables.
  • Proven expertise in category management, merchandising, and retail operations.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in managing category P&L.
  • Hands-on experience in COCO/large format retail store management is a plus.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and vendor negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across store locations.
