Job Summary:

The BIM Structural Lead will be responsible for managing and coordinating structural BIM models, drawings and associated deliverables for building projects. This role involves managing and integrating structural BIM deliveries with other disciplines, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the structural deliverables throughout the project lifecycle, and collaborating closely with architects, MEP engineers, and clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for structural BIM coordination, architects, engineers, and client.
  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings and provide input on structural-related issues.
  • Provide technical support to project teams and assist in resolving any structural-related queries.
  • Develop, manage, and update structural BIM models and drawings throughout all project phases.
  • Coordinate with other discipline BIM coordinators (architectural, MEP) to integrate and align models.
  • Resolve clashes and discrepancies between structural and other discipline models using clash detection software.
  • Ensure the models comply with Indian building codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Implement changes in the model based on design revisions and ensure all changes are accurately reflected.
  • Generate and manage structural drawings and documentation extracted from BIM models.
  • Prepare detailed schedules, bills of quantities (BOQs), and other project-related documents.
  • Conduct regular model audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards.
  • Implement and enforce BIM standards and protocols specific to structural engineering.
  • Utilize BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and other related tools for model development, coordination, and clash detection.
  • Mentor and train junior BIM modelers and other team members on structural BIM processes and best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of BIM processes within the organization.
  • Assist the operation lead in planning, scheduling, and coordinating BIM-related activities for structural engineering.
  • Monitor the progress of BIM tasks and ensure timely delivery of models and drawings.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5-6 years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in BIM coordination.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and other relevant BIM tools.
  • Strong understanding of Indian building codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on large-scale building projects in India.
  • Knowledge of international BIM standards and protocols.
  • Certification in BIM or relevant structural engineering software.
