Chief Software Architect

The Chief Architect will serve as the principal technical authority across the firm's global product portfolio, driving the technology transformation from Hyderabads Centre of Excellence.

This high-impact, individual contributor role is responsible for defining the future-state architecture across software, embedded systems, and integrated platforms.

The role focuses on modernizing legacy systems, enabling cloud-native and microservices-based solutions, and guiding next-generation platform development through the India-based Advanced Technology Group (ATG). The Chief Architect will lead the long-term technology roadmap, establish architectural standards, and evaluate emerging technologies such as GenAI, IoT, and Edge Computing.

Partnering closely with global Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams, this individual will influence large-scale architectural decisions to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient systems that power critical public infrastructure worldwide.

1. Enterprise Architecture and Technology Strategy :

- Define and drive the architecture for Cubics software & embedded systems.

- Develop architectural blueprints, frameworks, and decision records to ensure consistency, scalability, and maintainability.

- Lead the creation of reference architectures and align long-term technology strategy with business objectives.

2. Legacy Modernization & Technical Debt Resolution :

- Architect and execute the modernization roadmap to replace or refactor legacy systems.

- Support the decomposition of monoliths and adoption of modular microservices.

- Lead migration from on-premise infrastructure to secure, scalable cloud-native (AWS-based) environments.

3. Advanced Technology Incubation :

- Collaborate with the India-based Advanced Technology Group (ATG) to architect platforms leveraging cutting-edge technologies.

- Translate long-term tech vision into near-term experimental programs.

- Evaluate and guide adoption of emerging technology trends including Kubernetes, AWS, AI, DevOps, etc.

4. Engineering Governance & Best Practices :

- Establish and maintain architecture principles, coding standards, and governance frameworks.

- Promote DevSecOps and ensure security-first architecture practices.

- Drive best practices in CI/CD, observability, resilience, and scalable infrastructure by spearheading the automation of pipelines to enable seamless continuous integration and deployment.

- Enable a faster go-to-market approach by streamlining development workflows.

5. Stakeholder Management & Cross Functional Alignment :

- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Customer Success to ensure architectural alignment with business outcomes.

- The incumbent will work closely with diverse teams including software and embedded systems engineering (230+), product, customer services, and operations.

- Represent architecture in strategic customer engagements and solution design discussions.

- Serve as the bridge between business needs and engineering execution.

6. Leadership & Influence :

- Operate as a mentor and technical advisor to engineering and product teams without direct reporting lines.

- Influence and align global technical leaders through domain expertise and consistent architectural guidance.

- Evangelize architecture principles across forums, working groups, and design discussions.
