A ServiceNow Integration Specialist is a key technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, managing, and maintaining integrations between ServiceNow and external systems. Review and analyse complex multi-faceted, larger scale, or longer-term Specialty Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.


Key Responsibilities:


System Design and Architecture: Responsible for designing and architecting ServiceNow integration solutions that align with business requirements. Specialist must understand the platform's capabilities and limitations to design scalable and efficient integration solutions. Requirement Gathering and Analysis: Collaborating with stakeholders, including business analysts, project managers, and end-users, to analyse requirements for ServiceNow integrations. He/she will be responsible for requirements to be correctly translated into technical specifications and integration solutions.

Customization and Configuration: Customize and configure the platform to meet specific business needs. This involves creating workflows, transform maps, business rules, custom tables, fields etc. He/she will also be responsible for reviewing the configuration and customization done by junior team members.

Integration and Data Migration: Integrating ServiceNow with other third-party applications and systems is a crucial aspect of the job. He/she should be able to design and implement integration solutions and manage data migration when required. He/she should be well versed with all integration methods, techniques supported by ServiceNow platform. He/she also needs to be well versed with various integration testing tools and methods.

Development and Scripting: He/she will be accountable for validating and verifying the scripts and code (JavaScript, Glide API, etc.) for ServiceNow applications and enhancements developed by the team. He may be required to develop the scripts and code in case the team members are unable.

Secure Coding: Ensuring that ServiceNow implementations adhere to security best practices and compliance standards. This includes managing user access, data protection, and handling sensitive information.

Troubleshooting and Support: Providing technical support to resolve issues related to ServiceNow configurations, customizations, and integrations.

Documentation: Preparing detailed technical documentation, including HLD/LLDs, system designs, data exchange flows and implementation guidelines.

Team Management: He/she will play the role of Point of Contact for ServiceNow integrations for other team members. Should be able to review the work done by them.


Required Skills:

ServiceNow Expertise: Hands-on experience of working on ServiceNow platform and CMDB/CSDM, implementation experience in any of the product lines such as CSM/ITSM/ITOM/ITAM/HRSD etc.

Integrations (designed & implemented minimum 5 integrations): Experience in Integration Hub, Custom Integrations using REST or SOAP, eBonding is mandatory. Experience and knowledge of Service Graph, Event Connectors, Web Services or Action Designer will be added advantage. Integrating monitoring and discovery tools such as Nimsoft, SolarWinds, Qualys, SCCM, Dynatrace etc.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript, Jason, WSDLs, JDBC/ODBC etc. integration technologies. Awareness of industry leading integration tools/platforms like Workato, Informatica, Power Automate, Boomi, etc.

Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with IT4IT, TOGAF.

Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and development teams.

Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset and the ability to identify and solve complex technical challenges.

Technology awareness:

  • Platform: Tokyo and later releases
  • Frameworks: CI-CD / CSDM,
  • Database: MongoDB, SQL
  • Programming: Core Java, Angular, ReactJS,
  • Deployment/Project Management: Concepts of Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, DevOps

Qualification:

  • Graduation in Information Technology/Computer Science
  • Certifications (MUST HAVE): ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD), any of Micro Certifications (Integration Hub, Service Graph Connectors, Agent Client Collector etc.)
  • Certifications (Good to have): ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS – DISC/ EM /ITSM etc.)Working experience with Fortune Customers
