Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Land Acquisition Manager to join our growing team in the solar energy sector. The Land Acquisition Manager will be responsible for identifying, negotiating, and securing land for solar energy projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of real estate, legal, land use regulations, and renewable energy development, with a proven track record of successfully managing land acquisitions from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Land Identification & Acquisition:
  • Identify suitable land parcels for solar projects based on location, size, zoning, and other critical factors. Lead the land acquisition process, including outreach to landowners, negotiation of terms, and final acquisition.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Build and maintain relationships with landowners, local authorities, government agencies, and other stakeholders involved in the land acquisition process. Serve as the primary point of contact for all land-related inquiries.
  • Negotiation:
  • Lead the negotiation process for land leases, land purchases, and easement agreements. Ensure that all agreements are in line with the company’s objectives and legal standards.
  • Due Diligence:
  • Conduct thorough due diligence to assess the land’s viability for solar development, including environmental studies, zoning regulations, permitting requirements, and title research. Ensure that all necessary land rights are secured for project development.
  • Compliance & Legal:
  • Ensure that all land acquisition activities comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Work closely with legal teams to draft contracts, review land titles, and resolve any legal issues related to land acquisition.
  • Market Research & Analysis:
  • Conduct research on market trends, land availability, and emerging opportunities in the solar sector. Keep updated on changes in zoning, land use laws, and renewable energy policies that may impact land acquisition strategies.
  • Budget Management:
  • Manage budgets and timelines related to land acquisition projects. Ensure that all land acquisition activities are completed within budget and on schedule.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with internal teams such as project development, legal, finance, and engineering to ensure that land acquisition aligns with project timelines and requirements.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of all land acquisition activities, including contracts, permits, and correspondence. Provide regular updates to senior management regarding land acquisition status, challenges, and opportunities.
