Job Description: Sales Operations Leader


Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Sales Operations Leader is a pivotal role within the organization, responsible for driving the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales team. This individual will collaborate closely with senior leadership, sales management, and cross-functional teams to implement strategies that optimize sales processes, maximize revenue, and enhance the overall performance of the sales organization.


Key Responsibilities


1. Sales Strategy and Planning

• Develop and execute sales operations strategies that align with the company’s overall business objectives.

• Collaborate with senior leadership to set sales targets, forecast revenue, and develop plans to achieve business goals.

• Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to inform sales strategies.

• Coordinate and lead the annual sales planning process, including territory planning and quota setting.


2. Sales Process Optimization

• Evaluate and improve existing sales processes, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and aligned with best practices.

• Implement and manage sales tools and technologies to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.

• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for all sales activities, including lead generation, pipeline management, and deal closing.

• Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and track progress against targets.


3. Data Analysis and Reporting

• Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of sales data to provide actionable insights for decision-making.

• Create and maintain dashboards and reports that track sales performance, customer behaviour, and market trends.

• Provide regular updates to senior leadership on sales metrics, progress towards goals, and potential risks or opportunities.

• Ensure data integrity and accuracy through regular audits and quality control measures.


4. Sales Enablement and Training

• Develop and deliver training programs and resources to equip the sales team with the skills and knowledge needed for success.

• Collaborate with product and marketing teams to create sales collateral, presentations, and other materials.

• Facilitate regular sales meetings and workshops to share best practices, review performance, and address challenges.

• Support new hires with onboarding and ongoing training to ensure they are fully integrated into the sales organization.


5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with marketing, product, finance, and customer success teams to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.

• Coordinate with the IT department to manage and optimize sales technology systems, including CRM and analytics platforms.

• Foster a collaborative culture within the sales operations team and across the organization.


Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred from a reputed institute

• At least 10-12 years of experience in sales operations, sales management, or a similar role within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies and achieving revenue targets.


Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales operations team.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• Proficiency in sales technology tools and platforms, including CRM systems, analytics software, and sales enablement tools.

• Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.


Work Location

• This is a full-time position based in [Bangalore, India].
