We are seeking a creative and skilled Head Pastry Chef to lead our pastry team and elevate our dessert menu to unprecedented heights.


Job Description:

As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be instrumental in shaping the dessert offerings and overall culinary direction of the dessert bar. Your expertise will drive the creation of innovative desserts and pastries that align with our vision of luxury and uniqueness.


Responsibilities :

Menu Development : 

  • Lead the creation and continuous refinement of dessert and pastry menus.  
  • Innovate new recipes and techniques to ensure uniqueness and quality that match our brand's standards.  


Team Leadership and Training :

  •  Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff in pastry techniques and maintain Torte standards.
  •  Manage the pastry team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and high-quality output.  


Creativity & Innovation :

  • Create new dessert recipes, exciting experiences and experiment with new techniques, flavours and presentation.
  • Elevate the guest experience and set new trends in the dessert industry.


Quality Control :

  • Oversee all aspects of the dessert production process, from ingredient selection to final presentation.  
  • Ensure all creations meet health, safety, and quality standards.


Team Management :

  • Work closely with the culinary and beverage teams to integrate desserts with overall menu concepts.  
  • Coordinate with the General Manager to align dessert offerings with seasonal themes and promotional events.


Operational Management :  

  • Manage inventory, procurement of high-quality ingredients, and equipment needs.  
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and maintain kitchen hygiene standards.


Cost Management & Profit Enhancement :

  • Oversee cost management and optimize SKUs for all pastry and dessert ingredients and products.
  • Analyze sales data, adjusting inventory levels and plan production to minimize waste.
  • Develop strategies to optimize processes and menu pricing to increase profitability and contribute to the overall financial success of the brand.


Guest Interaction :

  • Engage with guests to receive feedback and make adjustments to menu items as needed.  
  • Participate in special events, tastings, and demonstrations to promote our products.


Requirements :

  • Culinary Arts degree with a specialization in baking and pastry arts.  
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in pastry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a premium or fine-dining environment.  
  • Demonstrated creativity and a portfolio of innovative pastry designs.  
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.  
  • Passion for the latest trends in pastry and dessert arts.  
  • Extensive experience with French desserts and advanced plating techniques. Familiarity with creating interactive dining experiences that engage and delight guests.
