Job Summary :

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead the delivery of a cloud-based software platform for our higher education client. This role requires a hands-on technical leader with 8-10+ years of total experience, including at least 5 years in engineering or project management of global, distributed teams. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Ruby on Rails, Python/Django, AWS, PostgreSQL, and MySQL to guide engineering squads through the entire project lifecycle, from architectural decisions to deployment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Engineering & Team Leadership : Manage multiple India-based engineering squads (contract and full-time). You will coach teams on best practices, continuous improvement, and ownership while fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.

- Technical Planning & Execution : Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions by collaborating with architects and senior engineers. You will participate in architecture and design reviews, and provide hands-on assistance with code reviews and technical troubleshooting as needed.

- Agile Delivery Management : Oversee the entire project lifecycle, including planning, backlog grooming, estimation, sprint execution, and release coordination. You will monitor key milestones, proactively identify risks, and ensure timely resolution to keep projects on track.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Facilitate seamless collaboration and alignment between India-based teams and U.S. engineering and product leaders. You will represent India teams in cross-functional discussions, ensuring transparency and providing timely status updates to stakeholders.

- Talent Development : Contribute to the hiring and onboarding of new engineers. You will also participate in talent development initiatives and set a high standard for performance across the team.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 810+ years of experience in software engineering, with full-stack development exposure.

- A minimum of 5+ years in engineering or project management, specifically in distributed and global teams.

- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from discovery through deployment.

- Hands-on expertise in Ruby on Rails and Python/Django.

- Deep technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.

- Proficiency with databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL.

- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, Git, and CI/CD practices.

- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with specific AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda).

- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker or orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

- Relevant certifications, such as PMP, CSM, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

- Knowledge of other programming languages or frameworks.

- Experience in the education technology (EdTech) or SaaS industry.
