Currently our tech stack is built on Golang, Node.js, Ruby, Java and PHP. We use Aerospike, MySQL as data stores, ElasticSearch for search and Beanstalkd for queuingWe emphasize a lot on clean abstractions of code, loosely coupled services and good coding practicesWe are very strong believers in "you built it, you own it". And running a distributed system is very different from just building oneWe are crazy about high availabilitySoftware Engineer @ Tech @ Exotel :The job of a software engineer involves all aspects of software engineering : designing and architecting services and features, development, testing, instrumentation, deployment, stabilization and operations. You will be working on the core cloud telephony platform and products. A lot of focus in what you do will be outside of just adding features - you will be constantly thinking of "how do I scale out my cluster to twice its size with 60 seconds?", "how do I increase the platform uptime from 99.95 to 99.99?", "how to shave off a few extra milliseconds in response times?" etc.What you will do ?Project Management :- Work with the product management team to create an engineering roadmap that aligns with the product roadmap. - Translate engineering roadmap into executable internal projects, and own the end-to-end execution of these projects.- Plan, execute and deliver projects as per schedule, content, and quality metrics.- Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team using Agile practices.- Keep stakeholders continually updated on the progress of projects and operations.- Track and report engineering health metrics (such as bugs by severity, production incidents etc.)People Management :- Hire and mentor a team of engineers- Manage learning and development, and performance of your team.- Own, Conceptualize and Build a tech-focused teamTechnical Work :- Core stakeholder to all technical design and architecture of team.- Review code, test plans, and deployment plans.- Focus and Strengthen all aspects of reliabilityWhat we look for ?Must Haves :- Experience in telecom voice software systems.- Experience in distributed and scalable systems.- Communication skills - excellent written and oral communication to present complex ideas/concepts in a clear and concise manner; communicating with key stakeholders with work/project progress.
