Description :We are seeking a seasoned Database Architect with deep expertise in Oracle and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimising database solutions, as well as leading migration and integration efforts across heterogeneous environments.Key Responsibilities :- Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-performance database solutions using MSSQL and PostgreSQL.- Lead database development efforts, including stored procedures, triggers, views, and performance tuning.- Drive migration projects from Oracle to PostgreSQL or vice versa, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to align database architecture with business requirements.- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers on best practices.Required Skills & Experience :- Strong proficiency in MSSQL / PLSQL development and architecture (T-SQL, indexing, query optimisation).- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including PL/pgSQL, performance tuning, and extensions.- Proven track record in database migration projects between MSSQL and PostgreSQL.- Experience with ETL processes, data modelling, and schema design.- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and deploying databases in cloud-native environments.- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell for automation.- Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for database deployment.- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and data governance principles.
