Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead / Database Architect with strong hands-on expertise in AWS RDS Aurora (PostgreSQL-compatible).

The role involves designing, optimizing, and managing large-scale database systems on AWS to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and optimize AWS RDS Aurora clusters.
  • Design multi-AZ deployments, read replicas, and failover mechanisms.
  • Handle performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
  • Manage database governance, monitoring, and automation using AWS tools.
  • Work with DevOps and engineering teams for efficient database design.
  • Lead migration of PostgreSQL databases to Aurora.
  • Conduct capacity planning and cost optimization.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of DB experience (5+ in AWS RDS Aurora PostgreSQL).

    Strong knowledge of Aurora architecture, performance tuning, and parameter optimization.
  • Experience with pgBouncer / RDS Proxy, CloudWatch, and Performance Insights.
  • Good understanding of data modeling, normalization, and HA design.
  • Familiar with AWS DMS, Lambda, CloudFormation, and automation tools.

Good to Have:

  • Knowledge of Aurora Global Database, PostgreSQL internals, and extensions (PostGIS, pg_partman).
  • Scripting in Python / Bash / PowerShell.
  • Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
