About the role

We’re seeking to expand our procurement team and are hiring for our office in Kolkata - East. As a procurement professional, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials and services required for renewable energy projects. This role involves sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of components and services necessary for the successful execution of solar projects.


How you will contribute:

  • Supplier Selection and Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for solar project components, including solar panels, inverters, electrical panels, cables, Plant telemetry, tracker /Module mounting structure and other necessary equipment.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards. Monitor and assess supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contracts and quality expectations.
  • Cost Management: Develop and implement cost-effective procurement strategies to optimize project budgets. Continuously evaluate market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with the project team to control procurement expenses and achieve cost targets.
  • Materials and Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, ensuring that project sites have the necessary materials and equipment. Oversee the ordering and delivery of materials, coordinating with project schedules to avoid delays.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all procured materials meet quality and safety standards. Implement quality control procedures to minimize defects and errors in solar components.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage contracts with suppliers, including terms and conditions, warranties, and service agreements. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and emerging suppliers. Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and finance, to ensure procurement aligns with project goals and timelines. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates on procurement status and issues.


Ideal Skills for this role include:


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil) is a must, Certifications in procurement or supply chain management may be a plus.
  • 7+ Years proven experience in procurement, particularly in the renewable energy or solar industry for Associate or Managerial position.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Knowledge of solar components, materials, and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
