About the Role :Our Client is looking for a Team Lead with deep expertise in WordPress plugin development, PHP, and MySQL to spearhead our product engineering efforts.This role is perfect for someone who loves building high-impact WordPress solutions from the ground up and is passionate about leading technical teams.Roles & Responsibilities :- Lead the architecture, development, and maintenance of custom WordPress plugins that power our core products.- Design and implement scalable backend systems using PHP (7.2+) and MySQL (5.7/8).- Ensure performance, security, and extensibility of WordPress-based applications.- Collaborate with product teams to translate business requirements into robust plugin features.- Optimize and refactor legacy WordPress codebases for stability and scalability.- Oversee Linux server management, deployment workflows, and enforce security best practices.- Guide the team through the full product lifecycle from planning and development to testing and release.- Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and drive best practices in plugin development.Requirements :Qualification & Experience : - 8+ years of experience in PHP and MySQL, with a strong portfolio of WordPress plugin development.- Proven experience building, maintaining, and scaling custom WordPress plugins (not just theme customization).- In-depth knowledge of WordPress core functions, hooks, filters, REST API, and coding standards.- Experience with WordPress performance tuning, security hardening, and plugin optimization.- Familiar with Nginx, Apache, shell scripting, and AWS.- Exposure to HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, and modern JS frameworks (e.g., Vue.js, React) is a plus.- Comfortable with Git and collaborative development workflows.- Proven leadership skills with experience managing development teams and projects (ref:hirist.tech)
