Description:Job Title: Investment Counsellor | AVPFunction: BFSI, Investments & TradingExperience: 8 - 12 YearsLocation: HyderabadRole Summary:The Investment Counsellor | AVP is a senior individual contributor responsible for providing expert, customized investment advice and portfolio management services to High Net Worth (HNI) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNI) clients.This role requires deep expertise in Wealth Management and financial products, combining analytical skill with a commercial focus to significantly increase the Branch's Assets Under Management (AUM) and drive assigned investment targets.The incumbent will act as a Product Specialist, providing essential support and training to Relationship Managers (RMs) while ensuring strict compliance across all distributed products.Role & Management & Strategy:- Portfolio Management: Strategically manage the investment portfolios of HNI/UHNI Clients in close collaboration with their assigned Relationship Managers (RMs), ensuring alignment with client risk profiles and financial goals.- Product Analysis: Conduct rigorous analysis of diverse investment products (e.g., Mutual Funds, AIFs, Bonds, Structured Products) and provide expert, client-specific recommendations on product appropriateness and asset allocation.- Monitoring & Rebalancing: Take full ownership of disciplined Portfolio monitoring, rebalancing, and periodic investment reviews to optimize performance and proactively manage portfolio risk exposure.Business Growth & Support:- AUM Growth: Directly responsible for implementing strategies and supporting RMs to significantly increase the Branch AUM through new client acquisitions and deeper wallet share penetration with existing clients.- Target Ownership: Assume full ownership of investment targets assigned to all mapped branches, driving concerted efforts to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in a results-oriented environment.- RM Enablement: Actively support and handhold Relationship Managers in joint client calls, providing technical expertise and consultative sales support to successfully close complex investment mandates.- Training: Design and deliver technical training to new RMs and sales teams on new investment Products and Markets, enhancing their capability to sell and service complex offerings.Compliance & Operations:- MIS Management: Maintain comprehensive and accurate MIS reports detailing client portfolios, target achievements, sales pipeline health, and product penetration across mapped branches.- Compliance Coordination: Coordinate directly with various Asset Management Companies (AMCs) and internal compliance teams to ensure strict regulatory compliance while distributing investment products.- Problem Solving: Apply strong consultative, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to efficiently identify, analyze, and address investment-related issues, client queries, and operational challenges.Required Key Skills:- Wealth Management: Extensive experience (8 - 12 years) in Wealth Management or Private Banking, specifically servicing HNI/UHNI clientele.- Product Expertise: Deep technical knowledge across multiple asset classes and investment instruments, acting as a certified Product Specialist.- Investment Operations: Strong understanding of portfolio administration, trading mechanisms, and overall Investment Operations within a regulated banking environment.- Consultative Selling: Proven ability to apply a strong consultative approach to client engagement, effectively communicating complex financial concepts.- Target Achievement: Demonstrated ability to succeed in a demanding target/KPI driven environment, with verifiable experience driving sales volumes and AUM growth.- Self Motivated: Core trait of being Self Motivated and capable of managing large mandates and demanding branch networks independently.Preferred Skills:- Education: Relevant PG/Master degree, preferably an MBA in Finance or equivalent.- Professional certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CFP (Certified Financial Planner), or equivalent NISM certifications.- Experience with portfolio management software and financial modeling tools.- Detailed knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (SEBI, RBI) for investment advisory and distribution.- Prior experience in Private Wealth management teams within a leading financial institution (ref:iimjobs.com)
