Major role and responsibilities

  • M&A and Direct tax advisory on complex issues such as merger, demerger, spin-offs, business transfer etc.
  • Preparation / review of transaction documentation
  • Conducting direct tax due diligence
  • International tax advisory with a specific focus on BEPS, MLI, GAAR, DTAA, domestic tax laws and FEMA/ regulatory issues.
  • Inbound and outbound structuring.
  • Treaty interpretations.
  • Carrying out research on varied income-tax issues including preparation of Case for Opinions for briefing senior counsels on complex direct tax issues.
  • Preparing deliverable in the form of slide-deck, opinion, note and memo.
  • Direct tax litigation assistance including drafting submissions and briefing senior counsels.
