Job Summary:
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for leading sales efforts within a designated geographical area. They drive revenue growth by developing sales strategies, managing a sales team, and building strong relationships with clients. The ASM ensures sales targets are met while maintaining customer satisfaction and fostering business expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Business Development:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve area revenue targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned region.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs and industry trends.
- Negotiate and close sales deals with clients and distributors.
2. Team Management & Leadership:
- Train and mentor, the sales team to enhance their performance.
- Set sales goals, monitor progress, and provide regular performance feedback.
- Motivate and guide team members to improve productivity and achieve targets.
- Conduct regular sales meetings and training sessions.
3. Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, and stakeholders.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints effectively.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
4. Sales Operations & Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, preparing detailed reports for management.
- Track competitor activities and market trends to adjust strategies accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing guidelines, and sales procedures.
5. Coordination & Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to align sales strategies.
- Collaborate with regional and national sales teams to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
Experience:
- 3-7 years of experience as Area Sales Manager, preferably in Health Care Industry.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Data-driven mindset with proficiency in sales analysis and reporting tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Sales Growth: Achieving monthly/quarterly/annual revenue targets.
Customer Acquisition & Retention: Expanding customer base and maintaining long-term relationships.
Team Performance: Ensuring the team meets productivity and sales quotas.
