Cloud Support Engineer Job Description

Job Description:

  1. Ability to translate application requirements into cloud architecture/infrastructure, Ability to deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant architectures.
  2. Capability to select the appropriate services based on compute, data, or security requirements.
  3. Knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP, Active Directory, and firewalls).
  4. Capability to migrate on-premises workload to cloud service providers.
  5. Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation, JSON, YAML or Terraform.
  6. Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems.
  7. Understanding of public cloud (GCP/Azure/AWS) infrastructure management.
  8. Delivering and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
  9. Experience in monitoring and auditing systems
  10. Define and document best practices and strategies regarding infrastructure maintenance
  11. Must have experience in Provisioning and Configuration of cloud resources in multi-cloud(AWS/Azure/GCP) environment.
  12. Proficiency in any one of the cloud environment mentioned above is a must.
  13. Intermediate knowledge on other two platforms are desirable.

Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner.

  1. Skills in API usage, command line interface and SDKs for writing applications. Ability to code to implement essential security measures.
  2. Must have extensive experience with at least operating system: Linux, Ubuntu, Windows.

Required Skills:

  1. Proficiency with any public cloud with the core Infrastructure Services for AWS, Microsoft Azure Services and Google Cloud Platform.
  2. Containerized Environment (EKS/AKS/GKE).
  3. Experience hosting an application on GCP using Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud SQL, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage.
  4. Networking principles and protocols such as IP subnetting, routing, firewall rules, Virtual Private Cloud, Load Balancer, Cloud DNS, Cloud CDN, etc.
  5. Advance level hands on knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, Route 53/DNS, Clustering (EKS and ECS), Log Management and IAM.
  6. Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of Azure Compute Instances, Azure Storage, Azure Backup, VNet, Subnets, NSG/ASG, IAM, Azure RBAC, SSL, Traffic Manager, Azure DNS and Load balancers.
  7. Advanced hands on GCP Compute, Cloud Storage, GCP IAM, SSL Certs.
  8. Strong notions of security best practices (e.g. using IAM Policies & Roles, SSL, KMS, etc.).
  9. Experience with configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet/Chef).
  10. Unix/Linux, Windows basic administration.
  11. Hands On Knowledge on Service Now, Incident Management, Change Management and other ITIL processes.
  12. Good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate IT concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  13. Practical problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
