This role is ideal for a professional passionate aboutdesigning mechanical systems for high-performance military platforms , contributing to innovations that enhancenational defence capabilities . You’ll play a pivotal role in designing, analysing, and validatingmechanical subsystems for Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs), remote weapon stations, and survivability systems , ensuring they perform flawlessly inmission-critical environments .Key Responsibilities Lead thedesign and developmentof mechanical components fordefence platformssuch as unmanned vehicles, weapon integration, and ballistic systems. Develop detailed3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and BOMscompliant withMIL-STD, DEF-STAN, and BISstandards. PerformFEA, CFD, thermal, modal, and tolerance analysesto validate performance under extreme conditions (shock, vibration, EMI, ingress). Collaborate withcross-functional R&D teamsduring integration, prototyping, and qualification of defence-grade systems. DriveDesign for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)and continuous optimization for cost, performance, and reliability. Overseetesting, validation, and qualificationof mechanical subsystems as per defence protocols. Maintain robustconfiguration management, documentation, and traceabilityacross the development lifecycle.Required Qualifications & Skills B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Techin Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. 8+ yearsof experience indefence or high-reliability mechanical systemsdesign. Proficiency inCAD tools(SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo) andCAE tools(ANSYS, Abaqus, MATLAB, Simulink). Strong understanding ofmilitary standards— MIL-STD, DEF-STAN, BIS, STANAG, ISO. Proven expertise inend-to-end product lifecycle— from requirements to design, simulation, testing, and deployment. Experience witharmoured vehicles, UGVs, payloads, or weapon systemspreferred.
