This role demands a strong foundation in mechanical design for military applications, deep familiarity with defence standards and qualification processes, and a mission-oriented mindset. You willdesign, analysis, development, and testingof mechanical systems and subsystems forUnmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs), remote weapon stations, survivability systems , and other high-performance platforms. From concept to deployment, you will be instrumental in delivering ruggedized, optimized, and validated mechanical solutions fit for hostile and mission-critical environments. Key Responsibilities • Design and development of mechanical systemsand components for land-based defence platforms (e.g., unmanned vehicles, weapon integration, ballistic protection systems). •Develop and maintaindetailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMsper military standards (e.g., MIL-STD, DEF-STAN, BIS). •Apply principles ofstructural mechanics, materials engineering, thermal and fluid dynamicsto ensure robust and reliable mechanical designs. •PerformFEA, CFD, thermal, modal, and tolerance analysesto validate designs under harsh conditions (shock, vibration, dust, water ingress, EMI, etc.). •Collaborate with cross-functional teams duringsystem integration, prototyping, and field trialson military-grade platforms. •Prepare and overseetest plans, validation protocols, and qualification campaignsfor mechanical subsystems.•Drivedesign-for-manufacture and assembly (DFMA)practices and contribute to continuous cost, weight, and performance optimization. •Ensure full compliance withmilitary design and validation standardsthroughout the product development lifecycle. •Maintain strict configuration control, documentation, and traceability aligned withsystems engineering frameworks .Required Qualifications & Skills • B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Techin Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. • 8+ yearsof relevant experience indefence and high-reliability mechanical systemsdesign. •Proficiency inCAD tools(e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo) andCAE tools(e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, MATLAB, Simulink). •Sound knowledge ofmilitary and defence design standards : MIL-STD, DEF-STAN, BIS, STANAG, ISO. •Hands-on involvement in theproduct development lifecycle : from requirements to design, simulation, testing, and field deployment. •Exposure toarmoured vehicles, autonomous platforms, UGVs, payloads, or remote weapon systemsis preferred. •Strong grasp ofvalidation, certification, and qualification proceduresfor defence products. •Familiarity withPLM tools, configuration management, and documentation control .
