ServiceNow CMDB Architect

We are looking for an experienced and visionary ServiceNow CMDB Architect to lead the design, development, and governance of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within our ServiceNow ecosystem. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in CMDB architecture, integrations, and ITSM processes, along with a strong understanding of enterprise-level configuration management best practices. This role demands hands-on experience in architecture design, software development, system integration, and project management to ensure accurate configuration data, seamless tool integrations, and optimal system performance across the IT landscape. Key Responsibilities : Architectural Design & Implementation : - Design and implement scalable and maintainable ServiceNow CMDB architectures that align with organizational IT strategies. - Define CMDB data models, relationships, and class hierarchies in accordance with ServiceNow standards. - Establish and maintain data governance frameworks for CMDB accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Configuration Management : - Develop and implement configuration management policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with ITIL best practices. - Manage discovery tools, data reconciliation, and CI (Configuration Item) lifecycle processes. Ensure data integrity and compliance with enterprise standards and audit requirements.- Integration & Automation : Lead integration efforts between CMDB and other enterprise IT systems (e.g., ITOM, ITSM, ITAM, Event Management, AIOps tools). - Work with APIs, MID servers, and data sources to automate and synchronize data flow. - Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to ensure accurate CI mapping and dependency modeling. - Project Leadership & Stakeholder Management : Define CMDB-related project scope, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring successful execution of ServiceNow initiatives. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT operations, security, compliance, and service delivery. - Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ServiceNow developers and administrators. - Performance Optimization & Continuous Improvement : Monitor CMDB health and performance; proactively identify and address issues. - Implement continuous improvement measures for discovery accuracy and data quality. - Stay updated on ServiceNow releases, new modules, and CMDB best practices to recommend platform enhancements. Key Skills & Competencies : - Proven expertise in ServiceNow CMDB Architecture and Administration. - Strong understanding of ITIL framework, configuration management, and IT operations processes. - Proficiency in ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and IntegrationHub. - Hands-on experience with ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript, Glide API), Flow Designer, and automation workflows. - In-depth knowledge of data modeling, integration protocols (REST/SOAP APIs), and system interoperability. - Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. - Ability to lead complex projects and collaborate with cross-functional global teams. Qualifications & Experience : - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 10+ years of overall IT experience, including at least 5 years of hands-on ServiceNow platform experience. - Proven experience as a ServiceNow CMDB Architect / Solution Architect in enterprise-scale environments. - Relevant ServiceNow certifications such as : Certified System Administrator (CSA) Certified Implementation Specialist CMDB Certified Application Developer or ServiceNow Architect Certification (Preferred) Preferred Experience : - Experience with ITOM suite (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management). - Familiarity with Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integrating CMDB with cloud management tools. - Exposure to DevOps, ITAM, and AIOps integrations within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
