Position Name : Executive - Customs (Brexit)



Brief Role Description:


The role is varied with freight being moved between locations worldwide in a fast- moving environment under time pressures. The import/export administrator will be responsible for ensuring the business complies with HMRC regulations. Facilitating internal control, training, audits, and compliance related activities.


Job Roles & Responsibilities –


This crucial role involves coordinating the movement of import freight shipments from beginning to end,

including customs clearances and deliveries. You will also be responsible for developing strong relationships with

our customers, ensuring their needs are met and helping to maximise the client experience.


 Freight Forwarding Processes: End-to-end working knowledge of freight forwarding processes and

procedures.


 Customs Clearance: Manage customs clearance requirements efficiently.


 Customer Relationship Development: Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients.


 Internal Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure client KPIs are achieved and exceeded.


 Reporting: Create customer-specific reports as needed.


 Team Support: Collaborate with team members and provide support and cover during absences.



Essential & Desirable Education/Qualifications/ Work experience/technical skills i.e. what are the 'must haves' for this role:


(1) Functional Knowledge of Skills (Must Have)-


Industry Experience: Background in freight

forwarding / logistics.

 Import Administration: Receive and check import documentation and process customs clearance instructions

 Shipping and Logistics: Coordinate with shipping companies and logistics providers to ensure timely and efficient shipment of goods.

 Regulatory Compliance: Following procedures to ensure adherence to export and import regulation

 As an Import/Export Executive you will work with third party freight forwarders to provide

timely import of procured goods and correct inbound processing of consignment deliveries. It

will be your responsibility to administer all daily activities relating to Customs Warehouse

scheme to ensure compliance with HMRC operating requirements.

 Communication Skills: Confident and articulate communicator.

 Customer Service Skills: High levels of customer service and a passion for client satisfaction.

 Team Player: Ability to work well within a team environment.

 Time Management: Robust time management and organizational skills


(2) Leadership Behavior-


Strong interpersonal skills are vital in the import/export business due to its reliance on international networks. Focus on cultivating relationships with suppliers, customers, and logistic

partners across the globe

 Clear communication is essential in import/export operations where misunderstandings can result in

costly delays or legal issues. As a leader, you must be able to convey complex information succinctly

and adapt your communication style to different audiences. Whether it's negotiating with vendors or

briefing your team, your ability to articulate strategies and expectations sets the tone for successful interactions and operations.

 The import/export sector is dynamic, with frequent changes in regulations, market conditions, and

political climates. To lead effectively, you need to be adaptable and responsive to these changes. Show

that you can pivot strategies quickly and guide your team through transitions without losing momentum.

To promote leadership in import/export operations, encourage innovation within your team. Create an

(3) Educational Qualification-


Min Graduate or engineering diploma after 12th


(4) Technical Skill required-


1. Knowledge of Advanced Microsoft Excel – common functions, handling large quantities of data, data

analysis, creating graphs, and using (but not designing) macros

2. Knowledge of SAP/S4 Hana

3. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Software Suite

(PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams) & Google Chrome


(5) Language Proficiency-


Fluency in English (both written and oral)


(6) Experience Required-


Min 3 years
