General Manager

The General Manager position is responsible for overseeing and managing the Corporate accounting functions within the organization.

This role aims to ensure accurate and timely Corporate accounting reporting, getting audits conducted, analysis, and financial insights to support the organization's financial planning, decision-making, and operational efficiency.

Principal Accountabilities

- Managing and supervising the day-to-day activities of the corporate accounting team, including financial reporting, to ensure the accurate and timely recording of all corporate transactions and activities.

- Preparation and review of Financial Statements and respective schedules from Trial Balance and relevant notes preparation on a monthly basis.

- To be involved in the monthly GL scrutiny and substantiation with ageing and reasoning.

- To be involved in the working and preparation of data that is shared with the regulatory and compliance team for regular return filings and RBI submissions.

- Supervising accounting for Expected Credit Loss (ECL), fixed assets, ESOPs, etc.

- Ensuring regular and required data sharing with Secretarial, Treasury, etc wrt their respective working and compliance.

- Ensuring adherence of the processes and policies, compliance with the ICFR guidelines as set out.

- Developing and implementing corporate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, enhance cost efficiency, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

- Collaborating with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits, reviews, and assessments, ensuring compliance with best practices, peer comparison of the financial statements and notes thereon.

- Conducting regular GL analysis, variance analysis (past periods and budgets) to identify cost-saving opportunities, operational inefficiencies, and areas for process improvement within different departments and business units.

- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, gathering data, analyzing trends, and providing financial insights and recommendations for optimizing structures and improving overall profitability.

- Leading the development and maintenance of accounting systems, enable higher operational efficiency through technology and automation.

Desired Profile

Educational Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) is a must.

Experience: 8-10 years of experience in corporate accounting, R2R handling, preparation and presentation of Financial Statements in the financial services industry (NBFCs).

Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills to interpret data, conduct variance analysis, and provide actionable insights and recommendations for management decisioning and operational efficiency.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, auditors, external stakeholders, and employees at all levels within the organization.

Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and accuracy in managing accounting data, financial statements, and analysis reports to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities to effectively lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals and drive a culture of excellence and operational efficiency within the group.
